There's a wide range of food and drink on offer - bread, pastries, cakes, meat, fish, cheese, pies, preserves, dressings, seasonal vegetables & fruit, mushrooms, beer and wine...enough to make a real contribution to reducing your food carbon footprint!
If you'd like to enquire about joining the group of traders, either as a one-off or on a regular basis, please email Richard Downard on rdownard@tiscali.co.uk

Following on from the success of the Local Food Fair last October we will be running a regular monthly Local Food Market at Hale Village Hall, on the third Saturday of each month.

We will be serving teas and coffees with homemade cakes. For the first market you’re welcome to join us for lunch afterwards – we’ll be serving homemade soups and Cotton Craft Bakery’s delicious bread rolls up until 1pm.
To encourage people to leave their cars at home there will be a free minibus running around the villages of Hale, Redlynch, Woodfalls, Lover and Morgans Vale, so if you’d like a lift, please contact Jenny on 01725 510148 up until Friday 19th March.

Hale & Redlynch Local Food Box
We launched the Local Food Box on our website last weekend, and have had a very positive response from people who are interested in supporting their local food producers, reducing food miles and eating more seasonally. We have already taken 20 orders for the Local Food Box, well on the way to our target of supplying 40 households in Hale, Redlynch and the surrounding villages.
Boxes will be collected from the Local Food Fair at Hale Village Hall, (Hatchet Green, Hale, Fordingbridge SP6 2NE) on 3rd October between 10am and 2pm. Anyone can come along to meet farmers & local producers, buy from a range of New Forest Marque food stalls and enjoy home-made soup & cakes.
If you live in the north part of the Forest we encourage you to join in our Eat Local Challenge, full details are on the website at www.thelocalfoodbox.org. If you live in the southern part of the Forest, why not try Warborne's veg boxes and support other nearby producers?

Hale & Redlynch Local Food Challenge
Following our successful evening with Patrick Holden last month there has been plenty of interest in our scheme to supply 40 households with local food for a week. Suppliers are very keen to get involved, if a little puzzled as to why we want to do this as a not-for-profit project!
The box contents and prices will be published in early September, when we will start taking orders.
The Collection Event will be on 3rd October, between 10am and 2pm at Hale Village Hall, and will include a local food market, cookery demonstrations, films and refreshments.
We are working on a website for the event and looking for a snappy title for the project – any ideas?
Please get in touch at pdownard@lineone.net if you are interested in participating or would like to sell your own produce on the day.
