We are now planning our next event for February  - SEEDY SUNDAY  (27^th Feb probably in the Church Hall).

Last year we ran a small but successful event in Sally’s front garden but this year we want to make it bigger and better. 

SEEDY SUNDAY is an opportunity for everyone to swap seeds (either commercially produced ones or those you’ve collected yourself). No money changes hands – just bring your spare seeds along.  If you don’t have any come along anyway and see what’s there – you can always give a donation to the village website – see below. We are also having a table for used gardening tools and other activities but we are still at the ‘thinking’ stage!. 

 We are looking for people to help organise this event and hoping that if you have an interest in gardening or vegetable growing you would like to get involved.  To see how Seedy Sunday works please go to http://www.seedysunday.org/ .

 All money raised is going to the development of the Downton village website.  At the moment this site is supported by just 1 or 2 individuals.  We’d like to see it developed into an interactive community site where anyone can post ideas and information – be it a cake recipe, items for sale or offers of lifts – as well retaining all the current website data.

 On Wednesday 24 November we will be in the White Horse from 8pm to discuss Seedy Sunday.  Please do come along or email for further information.
