Here is the description of our purpose which was recently agreed by the members of the group:
Aims
The Brockenhurst transition process will enable the village to work towards creating a community sharing locally produced food and goods and powered by local energy, so contributing to a positive global environment. We will connect and share our vision with like minded groups across the New Forest and the many visitors it attracts, and with the wider world.
Our Vision is of a world
· Of strong diverse communities, working together in a greener, healthier, more rewarding, more caring, and more peaceful world.
· Where people are encouraged and empowered to pursue local solutions to local issues
· Where we all live a sustainable life style that offers just and equitable uses of natural resources, for all people, protecting the vulnerable and poor of the developing world.
· Where we take seriously the problems that face our planet and respond to them with hope and action
