The next open meeting of the HDCCF is on Thursday March 7^th 2013 at 7.30 pm in the Hyde War Memorial Village Hall.

Our speaker will be Rob Hutchins who will talk about

“Small Steps toward Sustainable Transport”

There will be tea and coffee and an opportunity to ask questions.

AGM This will be followed by the AGM. All the officers and committee are willing to continue in office for another year, but we welcome new faces should you be willing to volunteer or nominate anyone else.

SEEED SWAP We will also be running a seed swap at the end of the evening, so please bring along any of your seeds that you have left over, or a small bit of cash to buy some.

On Tuesday 5 June, we will be holding a Picnic from 12 noon on Hyde Common (Village Hall if wet).

Bring your own picnic and everything. There will be games and activities, kite flying, rounders etc. Make and wear your own crown (from re-cycled materials, please) There will be live music and New Forest Ice Cream (free to crown wearers)

We are also investigating the amount of support there would be for becoming a carbon free village as part of a project funded by DECC's Low Carbon Communities Challenge. We encourage as many of you as possible to attend to learn more about this exciting scheme.

Frogham Fair - 27 Aug

We are having a stand at the Frogham Fair on Bank Holiday Saturday 27th August between 2 - 5.30 pm, and were wondering if you would be able to help ? (even if it's just bringing round a tray of teas!), or if you know someone who might come and help.

The event is at the field beyond the Foresters' Pub, near Hyde War Memorial Parish Hall SP6 2HU http://www.newforest.gov.uk/index.cfm?articleid=8849 The renowned Wheelbarrow Race is at 5.30 pm up Blissford Hill - the road is formally closed for the event.

We plan to have a display of information for people to look at and take away; a Nissan Leaf car; and 3 bikes! (all different); solar oven - demonstrating, weather permitting; plus colouring for youngsters. There will be plenty of expertise, so don't feel you can't help just because you might not know the answer to someone's question!

Even if you're not able to help, do come and say hello on the day.
