Shaun Chamberlin's new book 'The Transition Timeline' is about as important as any I've read. It should take the momentum of the Transition movement and, if there's any justice, will catapult it forward.

Just to let you know, that the Transition Towns Initiative has another document called the Transition Initiatives Primer. It is a very useful document for those wishing to embark on their own initiative. It gives specifics about projects in Kinsale, Totnes, reasons why you might feel Transition is not for your community - and why these are in fact not issues at all, the 12 steps of Transition, your final goals, some possible structures, list of appropriate DVDs and further reading.

It is in .pdf form online which you can read, or save across to your c: drive.

http://transitionnetwork.org/Primer/TransitionInitiativesPrimer.pdf

We now have six paper copies available to any locality in the thought processes of setting up an initiative - just email me at events@newforesttransition.org You can print the document yourselves, although is it 51 pages long. sarah

My daughter came home with this book from the library and I think it shares some Transition values, a great picture book for reading aloud or for readers becoming more confident (3-6 year olds). It has a great rhythm too!

The Chimpanzees of Happytown by Giles Andreae, illustrated by Guy Parker-Rees
