The Ambassador award is only offered to inspirational Green Flag schools that currently extend their support and commitment to sustainability and the wider community.

The award is the culmination of a huge amount of hard work for Mrs Hickman, Mrs Fernandez-Lee and many supportive members of staff. The entire student sustainability team is recognised in the award as the assessors noted that student leadership was truly inspirational. Thus the school has been designated an Ambassador with specialist status for ‘Studentleadership for Secondary age pupils’ With students leading teams in areas as diverse as energy, biodiversity, gardening, global citizenship, campaigns and recycling, this designation could not be more appropriate

Success would not have been possible without the efforts of the entire Ringwood community, as an Ambassador the school must ensure sustainability is embedded into the curriculum and in Ringwood’s case this meant contributions from all subject areas representing all three Key Stages.

As a flagship school of the Eco-Schools programme Ringwood demonstrates successful student and community interaction far beyond the school gates. The school currently supports energy-saving initiatives in local schools, encourages reuse and recycling in the community and shares information and advice with other schools. As a Fairtrade School several students have been instrumental in the campaign to re-establish the town’s Fairtrade status and recently staged a Fairtrade and ethical fashion show for the community.

A wonderful plot of land has become available in Pilley Bailey that would be able to support a couple of gardeners or somebody interested in keeping hens and bees as well as growing vegetables. It is approximately 33m by 10m average width. It is partially shaded but for only part of the day and it is well drained, fertile soil that is currently under grass so would require rotovating before planting. This small paddock is well fenced for livestock There is no water available on site but a hose could be run from nearby to fill up a container.
If you are interested in this garden please contact Emily (01590675612) or Rachel (01590683558) or email us at lymingtongardenshare@gmail.com

A lovely vegetable plot of up to approximately 8m by 6m is available in Daniells Walk, Lymington.
It was worked last summer so will be ready to cultivate with relatively little work. Tool storage and water are available on site.
It has previously been shaded by a large tree which is being taken down so it will be a much sunnier plot.
If you are interested in growing veg on this site please contact Emily (01590675612) or Rachel (01590683558) or at lymingtongardenshare@gmail.com
